➢ Theme: Beat Plastic pollution
➢ India is the Host Country
➢ It is being celebrated from 1974
➢ As part of this TajMahal along with other 100 monuments will be made litter free around 500 meters and Known as Taj Declaration
➢ Tamilnadu Government Bans plastic from Jan 1,2019
➢ United nations Environment Programme (UNEP) chief is Erik Solheim
➢ Environment Minister: Harsha Vardhan
2) Blue Flag certification of beaches:
➢ ChandraBaga Beach in Odisha Coast is first in Asia to get Blue Flag Tag on Environment Day
➢ The tag given to environment-friendly ,clean beaches equipped with amenities of international standards for tourists
➢ 12 more beaches also will get blue flag tag soon and is being developed by Society for Integrated Coastal Management(SICOM)
➢ it has to maintain 33 standards specified
3) RBI Financial Literacy Week:
➢ June 4-June 8 for this year 2018
➢ Theme: Customer Protection
➢ will focus on creating awareness among customers of banks about financial products and services, good financial practices and going digital
4) Who is recently Appointed as Deputy Governor of RBI?
➢ Mahesh Kumar Jain of IDBI bank for term of 3years
➢ There are 4 Deputy Governors in RBI
5) Kavalan Dial 100 and Kavalan SOS:
➢ Apps Released by Tamilnadu Police
➢ Kavalan Dial 100- shall reach State Police Chief Control Directly in Emergency Situation
➢ Kavalan SOS- Mainly for Women and senior citizens Shall send the location to police and Alerts to relatives numbers registered
